YAQUINA  RIVER

The Yaquina River

Originating in the Coast Range Mountains west of Corvallis, The Yaquina River flows approximately 60 miles in a highly serpentine course, through Eddyville, Chitwood, Toledo, and Elk City, and enters the Pacific Ocean at Yaquina Bay.

A major stream in the Central Oregon Coast, it runs west to empty into the Pacific Ocean in Newport.

The Yaquina river offers fall Chinook salmon, winter steelhead, and cutthroat trout fishing. This fishery provides a quiet and beautiful day of the river with plenty of opportunities to encounter one of its elusive creatures.
